Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Pattale/Dhap.
Today we start our journey drive from Kathmandu to Dhap takes about 8 hrs to drive by jeep.
We start the drive in Kathmandu via B.P. The highway which leads to Pattale hill through the bank of the Sun Koshi river. About 8 hours drive crossing many hills of greenery, small villages, rivers, ascending, and descending track of roads, we reach the Unique Pattale Village atop a hill 2800m.
Pattale is the best and nearest destination to go for Everest sight-seeing from the Capital. It’s also the most accessible destination today by road. Just before Pattale, we reach Jantardhap, the border point to Solukhumbu. One can take a jeep as in some places the road is rough. It’s a given that the area gets very cold during winter, so one is recommended to take warm clothes along. Overnight in Tented camps or local lodge.

There’s just one lodge here at 3,640 m It’s a short climb to the summit at 4,065 m but unless there’s an unusually clear evening it’s better to go to bed early and save the climb for sunrise view the next day.

The trail to the top of Pikey Peak starts from behind the lodge and follows a gradual slope to the summit, strewn with prayer flags. It’s important to start before dawn to reach the top for sunrise as the views from the top are breathtaking. If the weather is clear you will be rewarded with views stretching from Annapurna to Kanchenjunga, it is truly amazing!
