Day 01: Kathmandu to Lukla by schedule flight and trek to Phakding (2610 m.) 35 min flight and 3 – 4 hrs walk.
Lukla is a Sherpa village located in the Khumbu region of Solukhumbu district. Immediately after landing in Lukla you will observe the chill of the Himalayas and will experience the friendly and welcome faces of the people of the Everest region.
Day 02: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440 m.) 5 – 6 hrs walk.
The trail continues north up the Dudh Kosi valley to Jorsale, where the trail officially enters the Sagarmatha National Park. There is an entrance station just beyond the village where National Park entrance fees are collected. Continue along the trail, crossing the Bhote Kosi River to begin the steep climb up to Namche Bazaar (3440 m.), the administrative center of the Sagarmatha National Park, and the hub of Sherpa community life. Remember to look out for glimpses of Mt. Everest from the trail on the way to Everest. From Namche, a clear sky offers views of Mt. Kwongde (6187m), Thamserku (6608m), and Kusum Kangaru (6369m) right at Gokyo and you can enjoy the serenity of these lakes amidst spectacular mountain views. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 03: Namche Bazaar to Khumjung (3800 m.) 2 -3 hrs walk.
This day involves around 3 hours of trek to the serene Sherpa villages of Khunde 3890 m and Khumjung 3790 m. Sir Edmund Hillary established his first school and hospital in these villages. The Khumbu Yul Lha ( 5761 m) is located in Khumjung and is also the local mountain deity of the Sherpa people. You will find a thriving old Sherpa community and village life in Khumjung, which has schools, monasteries, and also the Yeti’s skull. From Khumjung, on a clear day, you view Mt. Everest (8848 m) at a distance. Khumjung also offers views of Mt. Ama Dablam (6814 m), Thamserku (6608m), Kang Tega (6783 m), and Tawoche Peak (6542 m). Overnight at the hotel.
Day 04: Khumjung to Dole (4200 m.) 5 – 6 hrs walk.
Trek from Khumjung to Dole (4040 m.) and it takes about five and half hours. Stay overnight at tea house.
Day 05: Dole to Machhermmo (4465 m.) 4 – 5 hrs walk.
Trek from Dole to Machhermo (4150m) and it takes about five hours. From Dole, we climb steadily along the side of the valley, where the rhododendron forests give way to scrub juniper as the altitude increases. The trail passes many summer settlements [yersa], which are used when yaks are taken to these pastures to graze in the summer months. Ahead of us are excellent views of Cho Oyu, while at the rear are the peaks of Kantega and Thamserku. Today’s trek is a short one and we will arrive at Machermo in time for lunch. Stay overnight at tea house.
Day 06: Machhermo to Gokyo (4791 m.) 4 – 5 hrs walk.
Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo (4750m) which takes about four and a half hours. Today, we climb up to the ridge from where we can see an excellent view both down the valley to Khangtega and the northern part to the Cho-Oyu (8153m/26741ft). Our route descends to the river bank before beginning the climb up to the terminal moraine of the Ngazumpa glacier. Afterward, the trail levels out as it follows the valley past a second lake, known as Longponga at 4690m/15383ft. Enjoy the lake view and after an hour walk will reach Gokyo village on the edge of the third lake. Stay overnight at tea house.

Day 07: Visit Gokyo-Ri and trek to Thore (4300 m) 6 – 7 hrs walk.
Explore Gokyo Lake and then climb Gokyo Ri peak, which takes around 3-4 hrs. The summit of Gokyo Ri offers spectacular views of Makalu, Cho Oyu, Mt. Everest, Bhorunche, and many other surrounding peaks. You can also witness the famous Lungsamba Glaciers that contribute water to the Dhud Kosi river. After exploring the Gokyo valley and Gokyo lakes, the return journey from Gokyo to Namche is via the other side of the Dhudkoshi river, which will eventually take us to Tengboche. Hence, the trek is almost a small circuit and will not follow the same trail back to Namche but will follow a different bank of the Dhudkoshi river to get to Tengboche. We walk on the same path till Pangka from where we turn east and trek through villages at Thore. Overnight at Thore.
Day 08: Thore to Tengboche (3860 m) 6-7 hours
Upon reaching Tengboche, you can visit the famous Tengboche monastery which is responsible for the revival of Tibetan Buddhism in the Sherpa homeland. Tengboche Monastery is the spiritual center of the Sherpa people and is also the monastery where several Buddhist festivals such as the Mani Rimdu takes place.

Day 09: Tengboche to Monjo (3440 m.) 6-7 hrs walk.
From Tengboche, the return journey is mostly a downhill walk and the trail crosses the famous village of Namche Bazaar and you will spend overnight at Monjo just before your exit of the Sagarmatha National Park.

Day 10: Monjo to Lukla (2860 m.) 4–5 hrs walk.
This is the last day of the trek and there is plenty of downhill walk from Namche Bazaar to Lukla.
Day 11: Lukla to Kathmandu. 35 min flight.
You will take the 35 minutes morning return flight to Kathmandu from Lukla.
