
Visa Information for Entry and Stay in Nepal
Visa can be obtained on arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, at border entry points in Kakadvitta, Birgunj, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, Gaddachowki on Nepal-India border and Rasuwa Gadi on Nepal-China border. However, there are restrictions on travelers from certain countries in Africa who need to obtain a visa before arrival. Obtaining a e-visa prior to arrival in Nepal can significantly reduce waiting time at entry points.
A visa can also be obtained at the nearest Nepal Embassy or Diplomatic Mission, or on arrival at entry points. There are multiple entry visas.

Major currencies are accepted. However, credit card, Indian and Nepalese currencies are not. You can expect some delays and queues during peak seasons. If the stay in Nepal is exceed by any change a $ 3 per day is charged by the department upon exit from the country. Visa renewal can also be obtained at the Department of Immigration, Kalikasthan, Kathmandu. A valid passport and one passport-size photo with a light background are required. Extension of minimum 15 days costs US$ 45 and US$ 3 for additional days. In case of delay less than 150 days, US$ 5 per day as late fine.
